Back to the live blogging after my session, you those who were there (in person or virtually) enjoyed it.  Right now we have the Social Computing panel with Shel Israel moderating, Shel is talking about his research project with SAP any how his questions kinda left his control.  People who he never would have expect have posted answers on their blogs, in videos, on Facebook…becoming an ever expanding conversation.

When thinking about social media reminds us that while IT might dismiss social media as "kids stuff", those kids are growing up, entering the workforce, and will be bringing their social media tools and skills with them.

Social media and social computing in the Enterprise…

Anil Dash of Six Apart further expands on Shel’s point of "kids" bringing social networking tools into the enterprise, but looking at the data surrounding them.  What happens to all the e-mails, what happens to the SMS messages that you receive…as technologists we need to work on these issues.

Shiv Singh looking at the creation of social networks, looking at the information not counted, looking at the growth of social networks and how they reach a point where they are no longer small and social, and not private.

Athena von Oech of Ning  … basic intro of Ning, which if you haven’t tried you should, the roll your own social network.  There are some interesting applications of Ning, like Classroom 2.0

Adam Nash did a little intro of LinkedIn … showing the power of having a history of your profession.  Give you the tools to be an efficient professional.

John McCrea of Plaxo … I’ve been a member of Plaxo since about 2003 I think.  It’s certainly saved me several times by having a backup of my contacts.  I know that they are there.  John took a nice jab at Facebook and the silly uses (Super Poke and throwing sheep). Social web social network bill of rights … going to have to look that up.
